Description

A fun and flavorful twist on the classic Sloppy Joe, featuring ground chicken and a rich Cajun-spiced tomato sauce, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hamburger buns
  • Sliced pickles (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the onions and bell pepper, sautéing until softened.
  3. Stir in the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Add the ground chicken and Cajun seasoning, cooking until the chicken is browned and no longer pink.
  5. Pour in the tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine.
  6. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes, adjusting seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  7. Serve the chicken mixture on hamburger buns and top with sliced pickles if desired.

Notes

For a twist, substitute ground turkey or beef. Customize with jalapeños for extra heat or serve over rice for a low-carb option.
