Description

A comforting dish combining seasoned ground beef with a rich, creamy gravy, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Plain or seasoned)
  • 1 Egg (Beaten)
  • 1 Onion (Finely diced)
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp Butter (Salted or unsalted)
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Beef broth (Low sodium preferred)
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 Onion (Sliced)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  2. Form into 6-8 oval-shaped patties and let rest.
  3. In an oven-safe skillet, brown the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown, then set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions in butter until translucent.
  5. Sprinkle in flour and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Whisk in beef broth and heavy cream, stirring until thickened into a smooth gravy.
  7. Nestle browned patties back into the gravy, cover, and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
  8. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  9. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce for extra flavor. Leftovers can be stored for 3 days in the refrigerator or for 3 months in the freezer.
