A comforting dish combining seasoned ground beef with a rich, creamy gravy, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Plain or seasoned)
- 1 Egg (Beaten)
- 1 Onion (Finely diced)
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 3 tbsp Butter (Salted or unsalted)
- 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
- 2 cups Beef broth (Low sodium preferred)
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 1 Onion (Sliced)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- Form into 6-8 oval-shaped patties and let rest.
- In an oven-safe skillet, brown the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown, then set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté sliced onions in butter until translucent.
- Sprinkle in flour and cook for 2 minutes.
- Whisk in beef broth and heavy cream, stirring until thickened into a smooth gravy.
- Nestle browned patties back into the gravy, cover, and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Feel free to add Worcestershire sauce or hot sauce for extra flavor. Leftovers can be stored for 3 days in the refrigerator or for 3 months in the freezer.
