Description

A comforting and elegant dish featuring cheese tortellini in a creamy, garlicky sauce accompanied by tender steak.

Ingredients

  • 20 oz cheese tortellini
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
  • Parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the cheese tortellini according to the package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, add steak, and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until desired doneness. Remove and let rest before slicing.
  4. Melt butter in the same skillet over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
  5. Pour in heavy cream and whole milk; simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Whisk in parmesan until melted and smooth. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
  7. Toss cooked tortellini and sliced steak in the sauce until well-coated.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with parsley and cracked black pepper if desired.

Notes

Allow steak to rest after cooking for maximum juiciness. Pair with a side salad or garlic bread for an elevated meal.
