A comforting and elegant dish featuring cheese tortellini in a creamy, garlicky sauce accompanied by tender steak.
Ingredients
- 20 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the cheese tortellini according to the package instructions; drain and set aside.
- Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, add steak, and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until desired doneness. Remove and let rest before slicing.
- Melt butter in the same skillet over medium heat and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and whole milk; simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Whisk in parmesan until melted and smooth. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
- Toss cooked tortellini and sliced steak in the sauce until well-coated.
- Serve hot, garnished with parsley and cracked black pepper if desired.
Notes
Allow steak to rest after cooking for maximum juiciness. Pair with a side salad or garlic bread for an elevated meal.
